Malcolm from Black Boy wins our holiday for two

We stated in our last newsletter that Ken Ryan from the Black Boy was drawn as the winner of our holiday for two, however we later discovered it was his Manager, Malcolm McConnon, who completed the entry. After a brief chat with Ken, he asked us to present the prize to Malcolm – well done Ken!
Malcolm, who is from Northern Ireland, has been the Manager at the Black Boy for nearly two and a half years and put his win down to the luck of the Irish – we can’t argue with that Malcolm!
Delighted with his win and well overdue for a holiday, Malcolm said he and his partner Mary were looking at a holiday in the Canaries, maybe sometime in February.

Malcolm came over to England in the early 1990s and has been in the pub trade for over 10 years.
His colleagues at the Black Boy thought the win deserved a celebration. They laid on a lovely buffet and invited the Ivor Thomas team along to present the prize and join in the celebrations. And what a great evening it was. A big thank you to all who made it such a wonderful occasion.
