New £5 note

The new £5 note was issued on Tuesday 13 September and will soon be a common sight in the coming weeks. This is the first note to be made from polymer, a flexible plastic material, and it features Sir Winston Churchill. The old notes will continue to be in circulation until April 2017 when they will be withdrawn.
